Located between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, on the white-sanded Mayan Riviera,
Puerto Aventuras is a small tourist town with all the necessary facilities,
including hotels and a marina for 150 boats. One of the many fun things to
do is to rent one of the many types of boats and go out to sea.

There are numerous PADI and NAUI certified dive operators in the Cancun and
Riviera Maya areas, offering everything from learn-to-dive programs for
the beginner, certification programs for those that are looking to complete their open water dive,
instructor lead dives for certified divers new to the area, and boat &
equipment rentals for those more experienced divers who want to go off on their own.
In addition, the El Garrafón Submarine National Park is located
on the southern tip of Isla Mujeres. You can dive freely at this beautiful
coral reef rich in marine fauna and multicolored tropical fish.
Surfing
The best waves for surfing can be found at Bahía de las Mujeres and
Chac' mool beach or Dolphins beach (el Mirador). If you want to drive
south, go to Puerto Morelos at point break Punta Brava or the reef half a mile
into the ocean, or better yet if you want the best surf in the area go to Cozumel
island - the other side of the island has a great point break (Punta Morena)
where the swells can sometimes be double that of Cancun's.
Extreme Sports
The beaches of Cancun with their wide variety of marine species are the places
most visited by tourists. The marvelous white sands are an invitation to rest
or to practice all kinds of extreme water sports. One of the most popular of
these sports is the free fall, and Cancun boasts of having one of the highest
bungee jumps in Mexico - the Regio bungee with a height of 230 feet/70 meters.
Fishing
The waters that lap against the Caribbean coasts of Mexico are unarguably the
richest in marine fauna. This is why you are guaranteed success on fishing
trips in Cancun. You can fish for chad, coronado, sea bass, sailfish, dorado
and red fish – April to August is the best season for fishing for the
last three mentioned – are some of the types of fishing done along the
shores of Cancun. Fishing services can be provided by Aqua-Sports and Big Game
Fishing, among others.
Sailing
One of the best places for sailing in Cancun is off its fantastic beaches.
The waters are perfect for a really enjoyable time on the water. Sailboats
and all the necessary equipment are available for rent at most of the hotels
along the coast of Cancun and the Riviera Maya.
