Stuff To Know About Cancun, Mexico
Doctors / Medical Services
There are some very competent doctors in Cancun, and many speak English. Check
with your hotel, as many of the larger hotels have English speaking doctors on
premises
or on call. If not, they can give you the name of an English-speaking doctor,
write the phone number down and carry it with you. If there is any doubt
in your mind about a doctor, procedure or medication, check with your doctor
at home, if possible, since medical service in Mexico is not as sophisticated as
in the U.S. or Canada.
If you travel with medications, be sure to have a list of those medicatiions,
along with your instructions for taking each, with you and another copy in
a safe place, in case your medication(s) are lost or stolen, and need to be
replaced, and also in the event you are questioned at customs about your medication(s).
If you are planning to purchase medictions in Mexico, and many people
do because of the lower cost, be sure to bring a current valid prescription
from your doctor with you.
You will find the local (Cancun) telephone numbers of some English-speaking
doctors on our list of
Important Telephone Numbers, however, this
list is provided as a convenience and is not an endorsement of any particular
provider.
